ALPINA Community History:

ALPINA Community (Registered Association)

In the beginning of the 90ies an initially unsealed small group of fans of the brand BMW/ALPINA develops in the Salzgitter area

In the course of the year 1993, the planning of a first nationwide meeting of like minded people in the area of Southern Germany began.

In May 1994, the first annual meeting of the Alpina Community takes place with ca. 15 vehicles near the monastery Andechs at the Lake Ammersee.

Since this time, we document our annual meetings in photo albums, which are shown as constant component of the meetings to the participants.

In 1995, birthday cards self designed by us have been sent for the first time on behalf of the Alpina Community to our members.

Since the beginning of 1998 we quarterly produce a booklet of 12 pages in the Lang Din upright format as newsletter for our mean while more than 75 members. In order to cover the expenses for the newsletter, we introduced members fees since than.

The Alpina Community in the Internet:

Starting with the year 1999 we are presenting our club activities on our own homepage and during this year, the number of our members rises to more than 100 persons.

With the issue 2.2003 our Newsletter grows to the DIN A5 format, has 16 pages now and is published since 2004 in high gloss using the four colour process.

Since the year 2004, the Alpina Community presents itself to the interested public with its own stall at the biggest exhibition of the world for historical cars, the Techno Classica in Essen.

At the same time, we celebrate our jubilee: 10 years Alpina Community!

In 2005, the range of vehicles at the annual meeting exceeds 100 vehicles. We are talking about the anniversary event of ALPINA in Buchloe. The Alpina Company exists for 40 years.

2006: The Alpina Community grows to over 200 members.

19/02/2007: After an internal reorganisation the Alpina Community gets the status as a registered association.

In the beginning of 2008 our application was accepted and thus we became a member oft he big BMW Club family. In March 2008, we had our first performance at the Techno Classica in hall 12 (BMW hall) with the loan of the ALPINA company, the original DTM M3 from 1987. The ALPINA Community (Registered Association) is worldwide the umbrella organization for the owners and automobile associations of the ALPINA brand.

In 2009 the ALPINA Community (Registered Association) achieved a lot: We were the first BMW club that presented its club sticker on an official race car: it was the ALPINA B6 GT-3.  Due to the Youngtimer service and the meeting at Fernsteinsee (30 years ALPENSHOOTING), we make the membership more and more palatable to owners of an ALPINA - Youngtimers.
